December 3, 2007 : End of the year cocktail party at the French Consulate. Pictures here!

December 1, 2007 : The Christmas Party at Madeleine's Petit Paris was a huge success. A group picture was taken in front of the Alsatian flag, it was the revival of a long tradition). After a benediction by Father Dough, we shared a wonderful meal and sang alltogether with warm-hearted Madeleine and Chef Gaspard Caioz. It wouldn't have been an Alsatian christmas without the traditional bredele brought by Particia, founder of Quintessencia. Many thanks to The Modern for the absolutely delicious Teacakes offered to each participant. Read the speech by honorary President Christian Rolling and have a look at the pictures!

November 4, 2007 : The D'ranners from Andolsheim run the NYC Marathon

We had the pleasure to meet a group of Alsatians from Andolsheim: The D'ranners, lead by Pascal Leroy. They arrived last week in NY to run the famous NYC Marathon.

All 35 runners finished the race and one of them even finished 636 out of 38'000 participants. Congratulations to all of them! During their five days in NY, they visited the Statue of liberty, Museums, went on Top-of-to-Rock, etc... Thierry Kranzer organized a visit of the UN on Monday morning before they left the city. On Saturday, we visited a firehouse in the Bronx (thanks to Benoit, our vice-president). It was a very memorable moment: French and Alsatian flags were given as a thank-you gift, as well as Vendange Tardive and Gewürztraminer bottles, tee-shirts of region Alsace and an old fireman helmet from the firemen of Andolsheim. All that will be exposed in their memorabilia room next to the American flag. Have a look at the pictures of the firehouse visit.

June 6, 2007 : Antoinette Boehm (membre) fête ses 100 ans à Long Island City.

Some pictures here.
